Returns & Refunds

Every Roys Diecast model is made to order for a specific customer. Because a custom 1:1 replica of your car cannot be resold to anyone else, we do not offer a standard "changed my mind" return. What we do offer, in plain language, is below.

Damage in transit

Every parcel ships fully insured. If your model arrives damaged, send us clear photos of the damage within 48 hours of delivery to info@roysdiecast.com. We will:

  • Repair the model at our expense if the damage is repairable, or
  • Rebuild the model from scratch and ship the replacement free of charge if not.

You keep the damaged unit — no return shipping required — unless we specifically ask you to send it back for inspection.

Quality defects

If any part of the model does not match your original brief — colour mismatch outside factory tolerance, missing detail we agreed on, mechanical issue with the opening bonnet/boot/wheels — we will correct it at no cost. Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos. Depending on the issue we may ask you to ship the model back for rework or send a replacement part.

Order cancellation before production starts

You can cancel your order for a full refund any time before we start your build. Once building begins we cannot cancel — the paint has been mixed, the chassis is on the bench, and the model is now unique to your specification.

We always email you at build start; if you need to cancel, reply to that email or contact us before then. As a rough guide, a build usually starts within 24–72 hours of the order clearing.

What is not covered

  • Wear from handling after delivery — please treat your model gently and see our care guide.
  • "Changed my mind" returns after production has started — the model is bespoke to your car.
  • Complaints about paint shade based on photos taken under different lighting than the reference photos you supplied. We match to the factory colour code and to the daylight photos you send us.

Refund method and timing

Refunds are issued to the original payment method (card or bank). Refunds typically appear within 3–5 business days of us processing them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I return a custom diecast if I change my mind?
Only if we have not started building yet. Once your bespoke model is in production, it cannot be resold to anyone else, so a return is not possible. Cancellation before build start is fully refundable.
My model arrived damaged — what do I do?
Send photos to info@roysdiecast.com within 48 hours. We repair or rebuild at no cost, and you keep the damaged unit unless we ask for it back for inspection.
The paint shade looks different in my house — is that a defect?
Not necessarily. Paint colours look different under warm bulbs, cool fluorescent, and daylight. We match to the factory colour code and to the daylight photos you supply. If you believe the colour is genuinely wrong, send us daylight photos of the model next to your car and we will investigate.
How long do refunds take?
3–5 business days from the moment we process them, credited back to the original payment method.
Do I have to pay return shipping for a warranty repair?
No. If we need the model back, we send a pre-paid courier label. Most warranty issues are handled without you having to return anything.
